What Are Dragons?
Dragons are legendary creatures that are often found in old folklore and fairy tales. Dragons are reptilian beasts and look like giant serpents (or small serpents depending on the type). There are many different kinds of dragons in the world. Some are small like the fiery, feathered, Phoenix, and some are just in between like the elegant Amphithere.
What kinds of dragons are there?
Dragons are scaled, leathery skinned, or occasionally feathered creatures. They are usually large in size except for the tiny Dwarf and hummingbird dragon. The largest is an enormous Wyvern. They can be pretty much any color, shape, or size. They are Reptilian looking and usually have wings. They technically look like large serpents. Some don't even have any legs or arms! As you can see, dragons have a variety of appearances so it is difficult to describe them.
Where do dragons live?
Dragons usually live in wet, damp places, far away from towns and cities where they won't be disturbed. Usually their home is in some sort of isolated cave and sometimes an abandoned castle, which they sometimes mistake for an old cave. That is how the legend of dragons dwelling in castles was invented. The poor dragons had no idea that they were in a man-made building. They live deep in dark wet forests, as well.
What do dragons eat
Dragons are usually carnivores, which means they eat meat. Sometimes dragons are omnivores, which means that they eat both plants and animals. And rarely there are herbivore dragons that only eat plants. Carnivores eat any kind of meat that they can find including elephants, tigers, penguins, polar bears, miscellaneous livestock, goats and even house pets such as cats or dogs. Omnivores are less picky and will eat pretty much anything whether it's a plant or animal. Herbivores eat a variety of fruits such as dragon fruit, star-nar fruit, which resembles star fruit, and finelity, which is like an orange.
