Jag har skrivit en muntlig redovisning till engelskan, som ni har gett förslag på. Det blev Vietnamkriget. Jag tog det relevanta. Säg vad ni tycker om och rätta om det finns grammatiska fel eller fel ordval m.m.
Vietnam war ( Oral Assignment)
When you hear or read something about the Vietnam War you often think about how U.S.A. shed many napalm bombs at defenceless peoples in small villages. But was it in that way? What is the underlying reason to the war? Was it U.S.A:s fault?
The Vietnam War was a high politic conflict that degraded to a war. In 1800-century a civil war started in Vietnam and caused that the country had to split up in two parts, north and south.
Between 1802 -1820 the country reunited and that was during the Gia Longs administration of government and to his help he had France to keep the country together. In 1958 French troops disembarked in Kochinkina that lies in south of Vietnam. Vietnam became eventually a French protectorate.
Just when it happened a resistance movement arose that wanted to free Vietnam from the dominance of French, even the Japanese were involved in this. They wanted to dominate Vietnam. In north of Vietnam Ho Chi Minh organized a guerrilla war that eventually became an open war.
At Genève conference 1954 the country, Vietnam, was divided into two parts again, north and South Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh dominated the north side and South Vietnam got a support from U.S.A. 1960 a liberation movement was constituted called FNL and the Soviet Union and China were included in the movement, so it was a communistic movement. U.S.A Supported South Vietnam and they recruited more and more soldiers so Vietnam couldn’t become communistic. The north side got a material support from FNL that was communistic and wanted to expand their limits. After I’ve read about the war I understand the U.S.A. role in the war, they didn’t want to kill these people. They wanted to prevent the communism that spread in Asia. That was the part of in what we call “The cold war” between the Soviet Union and U.S.A. In addition to this war, one didn’t want that the big pact with the Soviet Union and China would be bigger and stronger.
This war cost many lives. From the North Vietnam and FNL 925 000 people died. And over 2 million were injured. This is a tragedy but this isn’t the only numbers of dead peoples. About 250 000 people died from the south side and 780 000 were injured. U.S.A. lost about 55 000 soldiers and 305 000 were wounded, witch is many. We can’t really forget every civil people who died, over hundred thousand people perished. When I see these numbers I can’t imagine who many it was. But threw the media coverage of the war you can see the peoples faces of suffer behind the high numbers of dead peoples.
This issue is a worthwhile knowledge, and it is important to learn from people’s experiences.

Jag tycker du skulle låtit det vara som emery föreslog, alltså "and caused the country to split up in two parts, north and south". Det låter mycket bättre.

Det här behöver inte vara fel, men är det inte bättre att använda 'was' istället för 'is'?

Den här meningen var otydlig. Jag tycker inte riktigt man kan använda sig av "one" i det fallet. Det var vissa som inte ville det, men förmodligen fanns det de som ville det också. Och menar du inte "would get bigger and stronger"?

Jodå, jag förstår precis hur du menar och det är rätt i det fallet att använda "one". Det blev bara lite diffust där. Det skulle vara bättre om du preciserade och sa till exempel att amerikanerna inte ville det.

Det går nog bra! Men om du ska köra det muntligt föreslår jag att du ser till att det är ord du brukar använda när du pratar engelska, så att du inte glömmer bort dem när du väl ska prata. Och ha stödlappar! Du behöver inte använda dem, men det är en trygghet att ha dem. Lycka till!
